Science!
We study Introductory Physical Science in 8th grade. This includes basic physics and chemistry. We started off the year learning some basic lab skills that we'll need all year long. Here are some pictures of us learning to measure mass, liquid volume, and the volume of irregularly shaped solids. We're also learning how to think creatively, and solve problems. As we display here, science is cool!
In "Coin Operated", we discovered that pennies made before 1982 are denser than pennies made after 1982, due to a change in their composition.
Amy, Mara, and Molly find the mass of some pennies. |
Clare, Casie, and Stephanie check the mass of their pennies. |

In "Measuring Liquid Volume", students practiced the skill of accurately measuring the volume of a liquid.

"Off to the Races" gave the students a chance to apply the scientific method to solve a problem.
Jamie and Amanda combine their efforts to make some wheels. |
